For the uninitiated, Gautham Vasudev Menon made the Tamil film, Minnale back in 2001, and after its huge success in the South, producers approached him to make it in Hindi. In the Tamil film, R Madhavan played the lead and was paired with Reema Sen. The actor was so exceptional in his performance that he reprised his role in its Hindi remake opposite Dia Mirza.
