Lori Loughlin reportedly not expected to return to Fuller House in wake of college admissions scandal

As the fallout from Operation Varsity Blues continues, another company has reportedly severed ties with actress Lori Loughlin, one of the accused charged in the college cheating scandal.

Loughlin is not expected to return to Netflix’s Fuller House, on which she reprised her role of Aunt Becky from her days on the original Full House sitcom, according to reports from Deadline and TVLine.

Her departure would not impact production as Fuller House has not yet begun filming its fifth and final season. Loughlin also is a recurring guest star and not a series regular.

Netflix and Warner Horizon Television both had no comment on the matter.

This news follows a similar move from Hallmark Channel, which cut ties with the actress and “stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin,” according to a statement. An episode of Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart featuring Loughlin was also pulled from the schedule.

Loughlin and Desperate Housewives veteran Felicity Huffman were just two of the individuals charged in the still-reverberating case that alleges wealthy parents helped scam their children into colleges. Some of the alleged tactics include Photoshopping images of the applicants to pass them off as athletic hopefuls, as well as claims of cheating on college entrance exams.

Loughlin, specifically, faces charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud, while she and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying $500,000 in bribes to classify their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose, as recruits for the crew team of University of Southern California. The actress surrendered herself to authorities on Wednesday and was later released after paying a $1 million bond.

Sephora and TRESemme also parted ways with Olivia, an online influencer, in light of the scandal. And TMZ reports the two won’t be returning to USC.
