Men’s defending champion and third seed Carlos Alcaraz reached the third round of Wimbledon 2024 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), London on Wednesday.
Alcaraz defeated Australia’s Aleksandar Vukic 7-6(5), 6-2, 6-2 in the second round.
Later in the day, top seed and World No. 1 Jannik Sinner takes on fellow Italian and former finalist Matteo Berrettini.
In women’s singles, second seed and reigning US Open champion Coco Gauff crushed Romanian qualifier Anca Todoni 6-2, 6-1 to progress to the third round.
Former US Open champion and local wildcard Emma Raducanu also made it to the next stage with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Belgium’s Elise Mertens.
